The new Workbook &
ONLINE COURSE
So much of the development and refinement of the mental health movement and care system has to do with enabling individuals. Enabling individuals to heal, to access the help they need, and to learn that they also have great power to help themselves. This workbook and subsequent course assignments and evaluations are the newest attempt at enabling people everywhere to access the knowledge and skills they need to become healthier and happier – and to aid others in doing the same. People everywhere can benefit from horticulture and Horticultural Therapy instruction, but are not always able to attend formal classes, workshops or schools. This workbook and the associated text and program provide an inexpensive and completely accessible resource for the public – both within and outside of Canada. Mitchell Hewson invites you to understand the wonderful world of Horticultural Therapy, specifically when working with specialized populations. The focus of Horticulture As Therapy and the accompanying workbook is to provide an all-inclusive study guide to assist you in developing a Horticultural Therapy program to enrich the client’s quality of life, dignity and self-respect through meaningful activity with plant material.
